Though it is mostly known for speakers, Jamo also has a small presence in electronics. One of their new products in this category is the DMR 45 digital media receiver. The DMR 45 includes support for a wide variety of sources, including DVDs, CDs, MP3, WMA/MPEG-4, DivX Ultra, Xvid, and portable audio devices via a USB port on the front panel. Designed for those who would prefer to use two speakers rather than five, the DMR 45 includes only a 75 watt per channel stereo amplifier, with a preamp output for a subwoofer.

Dolby Virtual Speaker technology and Dolby Pro-Logic II processing are employed to provide a “surround experience” from two channel sources. Full 5.1-channel Dolby Digital and DTS processing are onboard for DVD playback, though the sound will of course be downmixed to two channels. The DMR 45 also includes 720p/1080i video upscaling, with HDMI 1.2, component, and S-video connection options. Unfortunately potential North American customers are out of luck, as the DMR 45 is not currently available on this side of the pond.
