Heco Makes a Statement with its New Flagship
Filed under: Home Audio > Speakers
High end German audio manufacturer, Heco has introduced its new flagship floor-standing loudspeaker dubbed the Statement. The Statement includes a carbon coated 1” tweeter, a 6.5” paper cone midrange, a pair of 8” paper cone woofers and a trio of rear firing port tubes. The drivers are also housed in a hexagonal MDF enclosure that isolates the midrange and bass drivers to reduce interference. With this driver setup, the Statement is capable of handling 500 watts of power at 4 or 8 ohms while delivering a frequency range of 18-50,000 Hz. The Heco Statement is available now in either gloss black or silver for about $6,000 a pair.

Thats a pretty good price for a boutique reference line. Especially a German reference speaker.

Indeed, surprisingly affordable. There are plenty of speakers at double and triple that price that can't hit below 30Hz or above 20kHz.

Heco is not so much known as a High-End manufacturer in germany. Their speakers have had a very good reputation in the 80s, but then they turned more and more into a cheap mass production company.
Not long ago they "resurrected" with their "Elan"-Line, which had to be renamed into "Celan" for legal reasons. These speakers offer a good sound and built quality for the money. The sound quality mainly comes from a quite traditional approach in using paper cones with an old fashioned mixture, some other fine tuning on traditional technologies, plus a massive cabinet. So, no high tech or "experimental stuff" in it. The good price obviously leads back to the manufacturing in China.
