Diamond Audio has released two new HEX subwoofers with reverse motor structures designed for shallow mount applications. The proprietary motor structures utilize neodymium magnets for reduced size and weight. The new subs also feature woven carbon fiber cones, high roll butyl rubber surrounds, and cast aluminum baskets. The 10” S104 model has a 2” voice coil, a minimum mounting depth of 2.7”, and 150 watts RMS/300 watts peak power handling ability. The 12” S124 model has a 3” voice coil, a minimum mounting depth of 3.1”, and 250 watts RMS/500 watts peak power handling ability.

Suggested retail on the S104 is $349.95 and the S124 is $399.95. The 12" is available now from authorized Diamond Audio dealers and the 10" will be available by the end of the month.

Thats a interesting idea, inversing the motor structure.

Actually looks like a good set of shallow mount subs.

CDT will have some 6.5" midrange drivers out very shortly that use the same design. I forget who pioneered the inverted neo mag.....anyone know?

One more reason I heart DA now.

When is there going to be a contest to give away some of these? :)
