Azentech has released two new fully featured in-dash Vista PCs/Headunits. The double-DIN Atlas CPC-1200 is an update to the existing Atlas CPC-1000. At its heart is an Intel Core Duo 1.66Ghz processor on an Intel GMA 950 motherboard with 1GB of expandable DDR2 memory and a 120GB hard disk. The system runs Windows Vista Ultimate as well as a custom automotive GUI created by Azentech, which are displayed on a 6.5” touch screen. Internal GPS navigation, Bluetooth, and 802.11b/g wireless are all included.

Azentech also managed to cram in a 50 watt x 4 amplifier, a 24-bit DAC, FM/satellite radio/DTV tuners, digital and 5.1 channel analog outputs, front and rear A/V inputs and USB ports, an SD card reader, an RS-232 port and a microphone input. Vehicle integration support is also provided via the CANbus system. Incredibly, the Calypso CPC-1100 manages to squeeze all of the same features into a single-DIN enclosure, with a retractable 7” touch screen and front panel LCD display. In an effort to keep the driver from playing Doom 3 while driving, the computer functions are locked while the vehicle is in motion. Both systems are priced at $2,799, and are expected to ship in March/April ‘08.
