Wavecor has released a new DIY mini-monitor kit seductively titled the Evaluation Kit 5. The EK5 uses a small rear ported enclosure designed for the Wavecor TW030WA01 1.2” dual neodymium silk dome tweeter and WF138WA02 woofer. The enclosure is made from .6” thick MDF with a .7” thick front baffle, and measures 6.75” W x 11.9” H x 9.4” D. It is finished with a Rosenut veneer, and includes a black cloth grille. The EK5’s frequency response is 75Hz - 28kHz (+/- 3dB), with 4 Ohms nominal, 3.5 Ohms minimum impedance. Sensitivity is rated at 87dB/W/m, with 70 watts of continuous power handling ability. Pairs of EK5s are available preassembled and tested, or the drivers, cabinet materials, and crossover assemblies can be ordered separately.

They still don't have a distributor in the US, so you would have to order them directly. I wasn't given any pricing info, but I'll see if I can find out.

I've been bugging the hell out of the guys at Wavecor about getting a US distributor, but they are taking their time. I wish they would just go to Madisound and be done with it.
