Furman has released an update to their value priced Merit range of rack mount power conditioners, called the Merit-x series. The new Merit-x models feature increased surge protection with a higher joule rating, improved AC noise filtration for a lower noise floor, and an upgraded chassis with large spacing between the outlets on the rear panel for "wall-wart" or hospital grade plugs.

The M-8x ($70) provides nine total filtered and surge protected outlets (eight rear/one front), 15 Amp capability with a built in circuit breaker, and a "protection OK" light. The M-8Lx ($110) adds two retractable LED rack lights with a dimmer control. The M-8Dx ($150) includes the LED rack lights and a "laboratory-grade" front panel digital voltmeter. The Merit-x conditioners will be available in March.

That's pretty decent priced. I'll probably be pickup up a M-8Lx pretty soon.

Indeed, considering how high Furman stuff can run, just $70 for the M-8x is quite reasonable.

My thoughts exactly. Even though, I've yet to have a complaint about the ART PB 4x4 I'm using now, I'll just need a new one for the stage this summer and the lights could be useful. =)
