Shigeki Yamamoto has released a new high-end flea watt tube amp called the A-09S. The A-09S uses a combination of two 300B tubes, two German Telephony C3m drivers and a single Emission Labs 5U4G rectifier to produce a full eight watts into each of its two channels. The A-09S is available for $6,300 (¥680,000) without output tubes installed, $6,800 (¥730,000) with JJ 300B tubes, or $7,300 (¥780,000) with Emission Labs 300BXLs and a 5U4MESH attachment.

A 2A heater current allows the user to experiment with nearly any brand of 300B tube without the need for bias or hum adjustments, and a very high 200K Ohm input impedance means that the amp should work well with nearly any preamplifier. The A-09S also features a new toroidal choke coil and slit-type toroidal output transformer, a Cherry wood enclosure with ebony footers, milliamp meters and tube sockets designed by Yamamoto, and a pair of gold plated single ended inputs and rather beefy binding posts.
