CSS FR125SR Full Range Speaker Giveaway
Filed under: Home Audio > DIY Raw Drivers > Full Range
Next up on the Creative Sound Solutions giveaway list is a pair of their FR125SR full range 4.5" speakers.
Here is some information on the FR125SR in case you aren't familiar with it...
- 4.5" (125mm) full range loudspeaker
- shielded driver
- curvelinear paper cone, rubber surround and copper phase plug
- based on the patented* XBL2 motor topology
- new more open cast aluminum basket
"The flatter BL, lower distortion, low moving mass and significant excursion provided by the XBL2 motor, permit this speaker to perform very cleanly with a wide frequency response as well as almost unbelievable bass output. The FR125SR has superb midrange clarity and extended, low distortion bass. On a standard IEC baffle in a 200 litre enclosure the on-axis response is ±3 dB from 75 Hz to 20 kHz. The FR125SR is a superb full range driver priced to provide extraordinary value." - CSS
Some very cool projects using the FR125SR's are showing up on DiyAudio.com. You will need to be logged in to their forum to view the images.
This giveaway is open to anyone in the US and Canada (our staff is excluded of course). The usual rules apply, just leave a comment on this post to enter and only one entry will count per person. One winner will be randomly selected Friday, February 29 at 10pm EST and we will notify them via email.
We do ask that the winner write a brief review for the speakers they receive on our new review system at the link below.

I had a chance to listen to these in a BR reflex cabinet. They worked ok with a SS amp.

I'd like to register for the giveaway. I already have some expierience with these drivers and another pair would let me try a different design.

I'd start with them on OB for impressions and burn in, but I'd probably build a nice set of BiBs for them.
