OPPO DV-983H Pre-order

The OPPO DV-983H has been kept quietly under wraps for quite some time now, but the unit is currently available for pre-order on the OPPO website. The OPPO players are notorious for having excellent audio features for their price range, and the DV-983H is no exception.

Expected Audio Features Include (no official release yet):
- Optimized Power Supply and Audio Circuitry
- High Resolution Audio Digital-to-Analog Converters
- 7.1CH Surround Sound and Audiophile-Level Sound Quality
- SACD, Redbook CD and HDCD Universal Playback with Precision Track 3 Drive Mechanism
- Digital audio output via optical, coaxial and HDMI
- DTS Digital Surround, Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro-Logic II support
- HDMI audio output supporting bit-stream and uncompressed multi-channel high resolution audio
- 24-bit, 192kHz, 8-channel high resolution audio D/A converters
- Optimized analog audio stage and isolated audio power supply
- USB 2.0 interface for video, picture and music playback

The pre-order price is $399 and the estimated ship date is March 10th.

I'm holding out for their new Blu-ray player, but if you want a very nice DVD and and audio playback device the DV-983H will fit the bill.
