Slotting below the flagship Lohengrin II in Verity's high end eXR (extend range) speaker line is the new Sarastro II speaker. The eXR speakers are distinguished from lesser models with their extended efficiency, dynamics, power, and bandwidth. The Sarastro II uses a resonance free aluminum foil ribbon tweeter, a 6" midrange, and an 11" woofer, all of which are custom-made and proprietary to Verity. As in all of Verity's two piece cabinet designs, the woofer is mounted in a rear firing, rear ported configuration. The Sarastro II's frequency response is rated at 20Hz - 60kHz, with 93dB/W/m sensitivity. Power handling is claimed from 18 watts to "unlimited". Pricing starts at $39,995 for the standard Italian lacquer finish, with other veneers available at additional charge.

Nice! I hope they sound incredible for that price.

haha, "unlimited". Nothing is unlimited. would they cover it under warranty if you hooked it up to a 4K watt amp and cranked it? they said unlimited.....

Especially considering the high-ish 93dB sensitivity, these things don't need all that much power to hit deafening levels. Maybe they think you're unlikely to challenge the speakers in a game of SPL chicken? Who knows.
