DLS Home Audio Demo

I got to spend some time yesterday afternoon oogling the DLS home audio lineup. DLS car audio is big in the US, but their home audio line is just starting to get attention and make its way across the pond.

Most of you car audio nuts will know Eddie Dejesus from his amazing blue S10 (2/3 down the page) that pretty much cleans up the SQ car audio competitions wherever he takes it. Eddie is the DLS America rep for both their home and car audio lines, and just outfitted his new house with a demo room while they bring on new home audio dealers. Luckily Eddie only lives a few miles from me so it was a no brainer to stop by.

Eddie had two rooms setup, a 7.1 channel dedicated HT room and a 5.1 channel multi-purpose family room.

The 7.1 channel HT room consisted of:
- DLS T5 slim floor-standing loudspeakers
- DLS IW8.2 in-ceiling speakers (x4)
- DLS Sub-3.10 active subwoofer (x2)
- DLS RC55 center channel loudspeaker

Music and movies both sounded great on this setup and the pair of SUB3.10 10" subs performed quite impressively while watching some scenes from the movie Pearl Harbor.

Eddie has some very nice Adcom gear on the way to add to this setup, so I'll be stopping back by once he gets the new equipment in.

The 5.1 living room setup consisted of:
- DLS T3 slim floor-standing loudspeakers
- DLS IW8.2 in-ceiling speakers (x2)
- DLS Sub-3.10 active subwoofer (x1)
- DLS TC3 center channel loudspeaker

Unfortunately we ran out of time and I didn't get a chance to listen to the living room setup, but I will next time.

DLS also has a slick new amplifier and CD player (Amplifier One and CD One) coming out next month that I'll keep you guys posted on.

I like the simplistic look of their CD One and Amplifier one.

I have heard Eddie's Blue truck a few times. Audio reproduction has never been so clear, clean, crips and accurate. When he played a section of an orchastral piece, the triangle sounded as if it were 5 feet away - Just a little off to the left! From brass to strings, everything was perfect. From Jazz to classical, Rock to Hip-Hop, words just can't explain the perfection. That truck takes your breath away. As a musician for 40 years, studio and live, I can say if their home audio is anything close to their mobile gear, they will be winning all sound quality awards. I expect nothing less from DLS. They don't seem to be a flashy company, just driven to perfection. I plan to make a trip to Eddie's to hear the system myself. Will post again.
