The new Classe SSP-800 Preamp/Processor isn't skimping on channels, with a total of 10 that each offer both balanced and single-ended connections. A 64-bit Texas Instrument processor handles of the DSP duties, with the DSP being housed on a replaceable module for future upgrades. Staying on the future proof theme, the video signal path supports 36-bit Deep Color Video (Blue-ray is only 24-bit).

The unit houses dedicated linear power supplies using a low-noise toroidal transformer to power the analog audio circuits, with digital and control circuits being powered by their own dual-output, low-noise, high-current switching supply. In addition to the remote control, a touchscreen control panel on the face panel can be used that has the ability to show 1080p video sources.

The Classe SSP-800 Preamp/Processor will be available this month with an MSRP of $8,000.

I've known about it since the Beta came out in 2007.

It looks like a real Monster. But, I'm about the two channel now. Especially the products with the FETS. ;)
