Playing the Building by David Byrne

David Byrne's latest project features a building that has been turned into a giant instrument. Sure it sounds crazy, but he actually pulled it off quite nicely as you can see in the video after the jump.
The project is called Playing the Building and it is located inside the Battery Maritime Building in New York. An old pump organ is used to send signals to the motors scattered throughout the building and they are attached to various pipes, beams and assorted other noise making parts.
The building will be on display until August 10, 2008.

Ok, that guy thinks way too highly of himself but that's the coolest use of a building I've seen in a LONG time. :)

I'll admit, before watching the video I assumed it was going to pretty lame. After watching it I was thoroughly impressed.
