PWK Designs - Custom Speaker Enclosures
Filed under: Home Audio > Speakers
Our friend Pete Kulicki has just opened up his new custom speaker enclosure company in Tombstone, Arizona going by the name PWK Designs. Pete has built quite a reputation for himself designing and building some pretty damn nice enclosures over the years.
I had a long talk with Pete about his services and he is offering something that is very appealing to those of us with listening rooms that don't fit the normal mold. I think Pete says it best on his website...
"Reflect for a moment on the fact that virtually all home audio speakers are pre-fabricated (and in mass quantities); if you have a set, odds are good that so does everyone else. When you implement the same model speaker in a hundred different listening rooms, it is naturally bound to comply with the acoustics of at least a few of them, but how many speakers are you willing to go through before you discover one that fully compliments your particular listening environment? It is probably safe to say that your listening room is unlike anyone else's, right down to the distance between the walls, the ceiling height and it's slope, the door and window placement, the furniture arrangement, and of course your listening position in relation to the room and the proposed speaker location. It would therefore make sense for your speakers to be unlike anyone else's as well. In that regard, PWK Designs home audio is about as exotic as it gets."
Even if you decide you want to build it yourself, he also offers a blueprint service that tells you everything you need to make the right cuts and end up with a finished product that fits your application.
Pete can be reached at the website for PWK Designs listed below.

Hi I'm looking for a custom sealed enclosure to these specs:
Sealed enclosure made of .75" mdf. It'd be nice to have a double baffle so the sub sits flat, but if it's too expensive, it is not necessary. I need the dimensions of the box (without a double baffle) to be 32" across, 10" wide, 15" tall, with an 11.125" cutout for the sub directly in the middle of the baffle board. See pic below. If you have experience and can build and ship such a box to me for a reasonable price, then you have my business. Grey carpet is preferred, but black works too. I need to know the total priced shipped to 28649.

Thanks in advance.
