McIntosh MPC1500 Power Conditioner
Filed under: Home Audio > Power Conditioners
The high-end line conditioner market has really begun to heat up lately, with new entrants emerging from Audience, Nordost, and Running Springs. The latest company to join the fray is McIntosh, with their new MPC1500. The MPC1500 sports classic McIntosh styling, and uses a large (unbalanced) torroidal transformer to provide noise suppression, with a maximum capability of 11.2 Amps and 1,350 watts available to components plugged into any of its 12 outlets.
McIntosh claims that there transformer emits no audible noise of its own. The MPC1500 also features a surge suppression circuit with clamping set about 2V above peak nominal voltage to keep components safe. Each duplex can be configured to be always on, switch on in groups, or switch on independently. The MPC1500 is priced at $4,500.

hmmm... only 11.2 amps? that is a bit low especially with 12 outlets. heck my receiver will do 10 amps on its own.

ya, and i'm growing tired of the 1980 look and feel... seriously, nothing from the 80's was ever classy.
