Microsoft Audio Video Media Center Room
Thomas Hawk's Digital Connection recently posted up a picture taken inside of the Microsoft compound in Redmond, Washington. Normally I could care less, but this picture happens to be of their audio/video research and development room. Ohhhhh, ahhhhh.
The room is simply called the "Listening Room," and it is shared with all of the audio/video teams at Microsoft. Acoustically the room is designed to be dead quiet with double cinder block walls and the ability to store noisy equipment in a foyer outside of the room. Word is that they have 130,000+ MP3's on tap for listening. Seriously, MP3's?
Equipment List:
Hafler Amps
Krell Speakers
Sony Pearl projector
I'm not sure what brand the mini-monitors are. They look very similar to M-Audio speakers, but the blue light is in the wrong place. Anyone know?
