Sunfire has released their newest Theater Grande receiver, called the TGR-401 (also available as the TGP-401 preamp). The TGR-401 features Bob Carver's signature Tracking Downconverter power supply, which is capable of producing a rated 7 x 200W into 8 ohms. Sunfire claimes that the TGR-401 is the only receiver to support the Olé®XL Keypad by ELAN for multi-room, multi-zone control, and the Via!migo iPod control system.

Connections include four optical and four coaxial digital inputs, a 7.1 channel analog input, and three HDMI 1.3a inputs with Sunfire designed 1080p switching. While the TGR-401 supports Automatic room correction and EQ, A/V sync, and Sunfire's "Sonic Holography" surround processing, it also follows the company's tradition of missing features compared to far less expensive Denons, Onkyos, and Pioneers. Analog video conversion to HDMI is not supported, and bizarrely, both Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD are MIA. The TGR-401 is priced at $4,000.
