NAD has released a follow up to their PP-2 phono preamp called the PP-3. The PP-3 features the same low noise discrete MC preamp and low noise opamp-based RIAA MM stage from the PP-2, but adds an analog-to-digital converter and a USB interface to enable users to copy vinyl LPs directly to a computer via a USB.

The included VinylStudio Lite software allows for easy conversion from analog to WAV or MP3 files, which can then be copied on to any portable player, or burned to a CD. The PP-3 also includes an analog line input which can be used with the A-to-D converter to create digital files from analog sources such as tape decks. The NAD PP-3 is priced at $180.
