Acoustic Zen Maestro Speakers

Acoustic Zen has released a new flagship speaker which slots above the Crescendo, called the Maestro. The Maestro is essentially a slightly larger version of the Crescendo with an added mid-bass driver. The tweeter and midrange drivers are the same as the Crescendo's - a 2" horn loaded ribbon flanked by twin 5" underhung midrange drivers. The bass section gets two larger 10" underhung bass drivers, and a separate cabinet containing a single 8" underhung mid-bass driver sits on top of the main enclosure.

The Maestro measures 67" H x 15" W x 18" D, and weighs 225lbs. It's a 4-way transmission line design rated at 20 Hz to 40 kHz (+/- 3 dB) with 87dB/W/m sensitivity. Finishes are the same as the Crescendo. The Maestro will be priced at $36,000/pr.

What's underhung mean?

Underhung is the design of the speaker. it has to do with the size of the voice coil and how it sits in the magnetic field.
