Channel Islands Audio D-500 MKII 500 Watt Class D Monoblocks

CIAudio has released a new flagship monoblock amplifier, part of a range of new high-end "MKII" components. Like CIAudio's earlier D-100 and D-200 monoblocks, the new D-500 MKII is based on a modified version of Philips' UcD (universal Class D) technology, rather than the popular B&O ICEpower circuit. The D-500 MKII features a new machined aluminum chassis, and a new linear transformer. The larger enclosure allows for both balanced and single-ended inputs as well as a 12V trigger, which works with CIAudio's new PLC-1 MKII passive preamp.

Power is rated at 500 watts into 8 Ohms, and 800 watts into 4 Ohms, with a damping factor greater than 1000, and 100k Ohm input impedance on both balanced and single-ended inputs. The D-500 MKII measures 8.5" W x 4.0" H x 13.5" D, and weighs 28lbs. The price is $2,500/ea.
