McCormack LD-2 Preamp and DNA-250 Power Amp

McCormack has released a new preamp and power amp which include upgraded components courtesy of owner Conrad-Johnson. The new LD-2 preamp replaces McCormack's popular RLD-1. It features an updated version of McCormack's "Line Drive" architecture, an improved power supply, and a new Burr-Brown volume control. Connections include five sets of single-ended inputs, a tape loop, and two sets of single-ended outputs for bi-amping. The LD-2 is priced at $2,495, or $2,995 with the optional phono stage.

McCormack's signature "Distributed-Node" amplifier topology places individual capacitors next to the output transistors. In the new DNA-250 power amp, these capacitors have been upgraded to Conrad-Johnson film-caps for improved resolution and dynamic range. The DNA-250 also features a redesigned JFET input stage and an upgraded power supply. Power is rated at 250 watts per channel into 8 Ohms, and 400 watts per channel into 4 Ohms, with 110dB S/NR. The DNA-250 is priced at $3,995.
