Goldenote Koala Tube CD Player

Italy's Goldenote has released its Koala Tube CD Player into the US market, which will be distributed by cartridge maker Koetsu USA. The Koala features a 20-bit Burr Brown D/A converter, a dual-tube output stage, balanced outputs, an "exceptionally stable" transport mechanism, and several of Goldenote's latest digital technologies.

Goldenote's Zero-Clock technology eliminates jitter and clock errors, while their "Electro Power" circuit checks the power supply voltage 50 times per minute and provides small corrections to smooth incoming voltage and improve performance. The balanced analog output stage is driven by two Electro Harmonix 6922 tubes. The Koala is priced at $2,296
