Grace Aqua Sounder Wireless Speaker Ball

Grace Digital Audio has released a new speaker ball designed for summer pool parties. Unlike some other speaker balls such as the Pieter Maes concept, the Aqua Sounder puts its shape to practical use - it floats. LED "mood lights" make it look more than a little like a leftover prop from Wall-E. The Aqua Sounder is completely submersible and waterproof, and can also be used as a standard outdoor speaker.

The Aqua Sounder connects to a wireless transmitter, which can connect to any device with a mini-jack output. Range is rated up to 150 feet. Up to ten extra Aqua Sounders can be daisy-chained on to a single transmitter, for some poolside surround sound. Each battery powered ball has 3 watts of amplification, and a claimed frequency range of 50Hz - 20kHz. The main kit is priced at $150, with each additional ball priced at $100.
