Altec Lansing Expressionist Plus

Altec Lansing has released the follow up to their rather odd Expressionist Bass desktop speaker system, which is called the Expressionist Plus. The Expressionist Plus system is a more conventional 2.1 sat/sub system with a more conventional design, though it retains the elegant looking gloss black finish with gold detailing, and industrial cues. The system is comprised of a pair of 2" satellite speakers, and a 5.25" subwoofer designed to be placed either on the desk or on the floor.



The satellites measure 5.2" W x 4.2" D x 4.9" H, and are rated at 180Hz - 20kHz. The subwoofer fills in response from 50Hz - 180Hz. Since frequencies above 100Hz are well into the directional range, on-desk placement may yield better sonic results. You'll need to clear some space though, as while the sub is only 6.1" high, it's a rather portly 10.4" wide. Each satellite receives 4 watts of power, while the sub delivers 28 watts.
