Ultrasone Edition 8 Palladium Headphones

There seems to be a bit of a battle going on lately between several high end headphone makers trying to outdo each other with new flagship models seemingly coming every other minute. Ultrasone's current top model, the Edition 8, is not exactly old, but that hasn't stopped them from trying to steal thunder from Grado and Beyer with the new Palladium Edition 8.

The drivers in the Palladium Edition 8 are the same as the standard version - 40mm titanium-plated Mylar with tri-bass-tubes and Ultrasone's S-Logic Plus technology. The only real difference is the palladium plated ear cups with ceramic inlays. The price is $1699, $200 higher than the standard Edition 8. My advice - buy the regular version, and spend the $200 on a balanced cable upgrade.
