Bryston BDP-1 Digital Music Player

Bryston has released a new digital music player called the BDP-1, which is designed to complement their BDA-1 DAC. The BDP-1 is a computer based music player which runs a Linux OS and uses a Bryston modified soundcard to output up to 24/192 signals via its BNC and AES/EBU digital outputs. The BDP-1 has no internal DAC or internal storage, and while it can connect to a network, it has no music streaming abilities. USB is the sole file delivery method.

The BDP-1 can be operated using its controls and two-line display, or it can connect to a number of devices such as computers or iPads over a home network which can be used for things like playlist management. The BDP-1 will be available later this year, priced at $2100.
