Musical Fidelity’s Class A Monster

July 14, 2010 by Dave Kay

Musical Fidelity has released a new flagship power amplifier called the AMS100 which sits at the top of their AMS range. The new AMS100 builds on the existing AMS50's unique bridged pure Class A design, and in addition to doubling the available power, it also ads a separate power supply for each half of the bridge, each with a dedicated dual bifilar choke regulator for noise rejection.

The AMS100 uses the same circuitry and number of output transistors as the Titan to deliver 100 watts per channel into 8 Ohms and 200 watts into 4 Ohms. The AMS100 is priced at £12,999.
