NAD's New C425 Tuner

August 9, 2007 by JD Mattioli

Built on the strengths on the previous NAD tuners, the new C425 looks to be pretty well integrated. Like most of the top tuners out today, the C425 comes equipped with RDS for both station name and radio text; this, of coarse, allows the listener to see data on the screen sent from the radio station. There is also room for thirty station presets for AM and FM combined, with naming capabilities for those stations without RDS. For ease of use, presets without a station linked to them remain inactive while scrolling so that the user doesn't have to go through empty slots. The C425 uses a MOS-FET RF front-end design to reach toward better sensitivity and lower intermodulation. The tuner is available in light and dark grey and retails for $180.
