A New Angle On Caelum

August 9, 2007 by JD Mattioli

Kibri, loudspeaker manufacturer, announced this year that it is replacing the Caelum in the catalogue with the new Naima. The Naima uses the same trademark speaker cabinet but has some hardware improvements as well. The most notable characteristic of the Naima is that the driver faces up at a 45-degree angle to emulate a more omni-directional sort of sound. The acoustical dampening properties, crossover and drivers have all been updated in the Naima as well as a few slight changes to the geometry of the cabinet itself. The speaker features a 7" cone with rear ventilation behind the spider and a 27mm tweeter and sells for roughly $3,460 (1700 Pounds).
