Dave Brooks and his Hybrid Audio Legatia L8 Subwoofers Sweep Debut Competition

August 24, 2007 by David Kay

At the Elite Summer Nationals IASCA and MECA triple-point regional event in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Hybrid Audio's new Legatia L8 8.5-inch infinite baffle subwoofers made their competitive debut in Dave Brooks' 2005 Harley Davidson Ford F250 competition vehicle. Brooks, a Team Hybrids member and a do-it-yourself installer, placed the L8 subwoofers in the front doors of his truck, playing completely infinite baffle into the door frames with the Legatia L31-2 three-inch component system installed on the truck's A-pillars. Brooks' F250 went on to sweep the trophy ceremonies in both the IASCA and MECA triple-point competitions, with a win in every category competed in including the MECA Best of Show - Sound Quality for the MECA regional event. At the trophy ceremony, MECA commissioner Steve Stern announced "the best sounding car [at the event] is owned by Dave Brooks."
