Lunacalante Flashes its Discs

The Metaphys Lunacalante is a sleek prototype sound system from Japan's Hers Design. The system has a minimalist design that is achieved through clean, sharp lines and a white finish. However, the Lunacalante's unique feature is that its top loading disc slot exposes 1/4 of the CD while it is playing. Being a design prototype, there isn't any information about the system's specifications. In addition, it's not even known if the Lunacalante will ever see the light of day.

While being a sexy design, I wonder how feasible it is to have a spinning disc open to the elements. To me it seems all too easy to have some object fall into the path of the mechanism resulting in a ruined disc. Oh well, as long at its pretty; that is all that really matters.
