Exodus Audio to Unveil Shiva-X and Tempest-X

Kevin Haskins, CEO of DIYCable and the Exodus Audio brand, recently announced on Carstereos.org that a re-invention of a couple of famous names is soon to be available.

The Shiva and Tempest were two extremely popular subwoofers offered under the Adire Audio brand for several years and were considered leaders for the price vs. performance market in the car and home audio world. Exodus Audio, a name famous for their high end yet affordable kits in the home audio world, has taken the existing ideology used in the Shiva and Tempest and added a very key feature: an XBL^2 motor identical to the Brahma.

XBL^2 is a method patented by Dan Wiggins and David Hyre (formerly of Adire Audio) that increases linear BL over stroke to improve distortion while keeping inductance very low. Both subwoofers should be capable of at least 27mm of very linear Xmax as a result.

Set to be available in October, the Shiva-X will be a 12" (much like its predecessor) and will be attractively priced at $185 shipped. The Tempest-X will be a 15" driver priced at $195 shipped, making these bad boys a sure fire hit.
