New Acoustic Elegance AV series Subwoofers Not Far Off

John Janowitz of Acoustic Elegance has been wandering the internet dropping hints about the new version of the AV series that made Acoustic Elegance famous a few years ago. We've collected all the juicy gossip and are prepared to entice you with it.

The original AV series were solid performers in the home and car audio world. With 23mm of Xmax and 500W RMS power handling, the AV series was well known for good output at extremely low prices in virtually every enclosure. With the new improvements to a classic, the AV series will continue to impress.

The new AV series coming out soon were designed with a larger motor and much more power handling. The coil's diameter has been increased from 2" to 2.5" to help increase the cross sectional area and, thus, power handling. The voice coils are still high temperature US made coils, dipped and baked to withstand temperatures up to nearly 600 degrees F. The AV features a full copper sleeve on the pole and a large copper sleeve on the ID of the magnets that helps lower inductance, minimize inductance variation, and wick away heat from the coil and into the T-yoke and top plate. The new AV woofers can handle continual power levels from 1200-1500W without any problems. The AV’s will have roughly the same amount of linear excursion and, as with the previous generation, you’ll be able to reach the mechanical limits well before it’s necessary to put the coil in danger.

AV series subs should be available in the near future. As always, you can call Acoustic Elegance at (920) 469-9198 to get in on the AV series subs or any of their other great subwoofers.

John just mentioned that the AV series will come with a pressed paper cone or you can upgrade to an aluminum cone....or you can even ask for a custom paint job (including Kandy). "Your subwoofer has officially been pimped."
