The Burmester 961 MK3 is the company’s refresh of its well revered 961 loudspeaker. The new MK3 doesn’t stray far from the original, with the only changes being the midrange and tweeter. The MK3 utilizes a new Kevlar coated midrange that outputs a more linear signal in the 300-1,000Hz range. In addition, the MK3 has been outfitted with a new generation Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter to increase the speaker’s frequency range.

However, the MK3 uses the same bass reflex enclosure and fiberglass woofer as the original 961. With this setup the MK3 is able to handle 120 watts at 4 ohms with a frequency response of 35-25,000Hz. The MK3 is available now, and Burmester is also offering an upgrade program for current owners of the 961.
