We've seen our share of big amps recently, but the new AE Techron Model 7796 DC-Coupled AC Amplifier is the King Kong of monster amplifiers. The first order placed for the amplifiers was by a customer who will be using twelve of them in three phases (wired in parallel) to simulate lightning strikes on a Boeing 787 airplane. Another version of this amplifier has even been used to test relays in the power industry.

The laboratory grade 7796 amplifier weighs in at 153 pounds and is 1/4 ohm stable. The amplifier has a frequency response of 0 - 30kHz (+0.1 – 0.5dB) and can provide over 12,000 watts when used for music. Internal fans move 500cfm of air to provide constant cooling for the amplifier.

The AE Techron Model 7796 Lightning Maker can be all yours for $10,750.
