Incriminator Audio Still Ramping Up Production
Filed under: Car Audio > Subwoofers
When Incriminator Audio first mentioned the release of the newest evolution of their Death Penalty series subwoofers, we brought you news on everything from the initial release, to the preorder info, to their 21” version of the DP.
Now we bring you more good news from Incriminator Audio after the jump.
Nick Wright of Incriminator Audio announced recently that they’re still hard at work on releasing the full Death Penalty line (currently only 12” and 15” DP’s are available) and developing their other lines… all in addition to the OEM work they’ve been doing. The current target for the release of their full line-up looks to be towards the end of January.
Just a few of the fun notes:
- The 18” DP is almost ready; the 21” DP is still a little ways off (not surprising as there are few 21” cones with the rigidity for high excursion with considerable motor force that aren’t way too heavy).
- The DR line will fall between the incumbent DP and LI series subwoofers, with a 1000watt continuous power rating. It features a triple stack of 7.5” magnets with a 4 layer flatwound aluminum voice coil, Incriminator Audio’s ADC (Air Driven Cooling) and CILD (Center InterLocking Dustcap). Comes in 12”, 15”, and 18” sizes with 10” drivers in the future.
- The LI series is getting beefed up, going to a 3” 4 layer voice coil rated at 600watts of continuous power. Again, it’s got ADC and CILD. Comes in 12” and 15” sizes with 10’s not far off.
- The 187 series is getting a bit of a revamp as well. Rated at 300W continuous, it will be available as a 10” or 12” with the 15” drivers yet to come.
- The Flatline SQ series is a new offering IA is working on. I first heard about this a while ago and it seems it’s still on the table, which is a good thing. IA is well known for their success in the SPL competition scene (most notably with the 20.1’s and 40.1’s in Scottie Johnson and Tommy McKinnie’s vehicles) but they want to show what they can do with an SQ driver. The Flatline (no similarities to the Arc Audio drivers of a similar name) will come in 12” and 15” sizes and will utilize an underhung driver as an effort to achieve flat BL over stroke.
Lots of good stuff coming from IA. And if you want something now, the 12” and 15” DP’s are currently available.
