Rythmik Audio has released a new subwoofer kit, comprised of their A370 Direct Servo Amplifier and DS1500 15” high excursion driver. Rythmik claims that their Direct Servo technology which feeds the servo signal back to the feedback summing points of power amplifier, without the use of op amps, transistors, or accelerometers, ensures minimal sonic degradation and the best, most efficient bass response. The A370 amplifier produces 350 watts RMS, and features signal sensing automatic power on/off, variable crossover and phase control, a 3-position switch for 14/20/28Hz subsonic filtering, and a 3-position switch for low/mid/high damping.

The DS1500 subwoofer has been designed for use with Rythmik’s Direct Servo amplifier, but it is also available as a standalone driver. It uses two 0.84" stacked magnets (for a total of 1.68" magnet height) and a 1.8" long sensing coil with 0.5" top plate to support 1.2" linear peak to peak excursion. Features include a lightweight 4 layer voice coil, an anodized aluminum cone and cast aluminum basket, a single 3 Ohm voice coil and 500 watts RMS of power handling. The DS1500 subwoofer will work in either sealed or vented enclosures, but the kits ($499 with a 12dB/octave crossover or $519 with a 24dB/octave crossover) are currently only for sealed enclosures.
