Pro-Ject RM-5 SE Turntable

The RM-5 SE is a new value oriented turntable bundle from Pro-Ject that is modeled after the company’s RM-5 turntable. The SE is nearly identical to the RM-5 with the only changes being a new MDF platter with vinyl mat and the addition of a Sumiko Blue Point no. 2 cartridge. However, both turntables feature a resonance tuned platter, suspended motor assembly, aluminum cone feet, and carbon fiber tone arm with precision Swiss bearings. These design details give the SE superior tracking, cartridge control, and speed accuracy; while producing a minimal amount of wow and flutter, resonance, and vibration. Analog music purists should be glad to hear Pro-Ject’s RM-5 SE will be available soon from Music Direct with a price tag of $899.
