Accustic Arts TUBE-DAC II

There’s definitely something to be said for simplicity in product naming, and Germany’s Accustic Arts embodies this idea with products like the “AMP-I, AMP-II, and PREAMP-I”. Clearly no time was wasted in a “what should we call our new DAC with the tube driven output stage” meeting. The hand built TUBE-DAC II is the first product to come from Accustic Arts’ new Reference series.

The TUBE-DAC II uses separate 32-bit digital signal processing for the left and right channels, two large toroidal transformers, and a “professional grade” tube driven Class A analog output stage for a “less digital” sound.

The price for the unit is just under $10,000 (£4,995).

That looks pretty slick!

Indeed it does, although $10K is pretty steep for a DAC that doesn't say "Esoteric" or "dCS" on it. Just my opinion.
