Armonia Loudspeakers
Filed under: Home Audio > Speakers
A new company from Italy called Armonia Loudspeakers has created a type of dipolar planar driver which they call TICCS (“Compression Separated Cavity Isodynamic Transducer”). Armonia claims that the TICCS’ unique architecture allows for faster transient response and distortion 10dB lower than a conventional electrostatic panel. The Armonia range currently consists of two large floorstanding models which use a TICCS driver between 200Hz and 20kHz and a rear ported bass section to extend response down to 28Hz, and a compact floorstander which uses a TICCS with a range of 1.6kHz to 20khz.
The TWR180 speakers shown above retail for just under $21,000 (14,000 Euros) without tax.
