If you’re a big fan of glowing glass, or even if you’re just interested in precision engineering, this is a fascinating video on the process of creating a vacuum tube from scratch – by hand, including the metal work and glass blowing, almost the same way it was done one hundred years ago when the first triode was created by Lee De Forest. The craftsmanship and the sheer amount of labor involved are incredible.
