Lansche Audio No. 8 Plasma Tweeter Speakers

Germany’s Lansche Audio uses one of the most technically and sonically impressive tweeters ever created in their speakers, the Corona ion plasma tweeter. The Corona has more ultra high frequency range than any diamond dome, ribbon, or planar driver because it’s not really a driver at all, it’s a zero mass, completely resonance free electric arc that directly activates the surrounding air as a sound transmission medium. Lansche’s latest creation, called the No. 8, is a 3-way floorstanding speaker measuring 62.2” high, 23.6” deep, and 17.3” wide at the rear, tapering to a 13.9” wide front baffle.


The No.8 utilizes a newly updated version of the Corona tweeter flanked by four 8” composite paper cone mid-woofers. The left and right sides of the cabinet each house two 12” Nomex-Kevlar-Glassfibre composite cone subwoofers, which are powered by individual 300 watt amplifiers. Frequency response is rated at 20Hz all the way to 150kHz, with the Corona covering frequencies above 2.5kHz. Sensitivity is rated at 99dB/W/m, with 8 Ohm impedance. The No. 8 is typical German heffalump, weighing in at 264lbs.

these things look killer....any idea on price? understandably it'd be much more than i could afford...but just interested out of curiosity

I already inquired about the price, just waiting to hear back. Anything with plasma tweeters is usually VERY expensive

I owned a pair of Nº4, and I have some problems with the starting of the Corona, I appreciate some distortion on female soprano voices, and some oscillations on space field. This is not Acceptable on these prices!
