The Second Skin Speaker Kit allows you to improve mid-bass, mid range, and vocal clarity while reducing distortion and increasing volume in your OEM or aftermarket door speakers.

This is the easiest and most drastic improvement you can make to improve the sound quality from your door speakers.

As a speaker reproduces an acoustic signal, it sends sound waves in two directions; forward and backwards. The sound waves sent forward we hear as music. The sound waves that are sent backwards go inside the door, vibrate the metal and plastic, and reflect off of the inside skin of the door back towards the speaker. This rear wave reflection interferes with the natural movement of the door speaker which causes distortion and acoustical cancellation.

These Speaker Pads get applied inside the door behind the speaker to absorb and redirect the rear wave away from the speaker, allowing the speaker to function just as the recording studio intended.

Great way to improve midbass

I installed these behind my Koda 6.5's and they made a significant difference in the sound. I already had Luxury Liner behind the mids but I put these puppies on top of the Luxury Liner and it made a noticable improvement in the bottom end of midbass. Maybe it's not so much the bottom end of midbass that improved, but the midbass improved so much that it sounds deeper and fuller without being overbearing. With as easy as these are to install it makes no sense to NOT pick these up.

Improve the sound without big modifications

I installed them in my cavalier's doors behind the stock speakers. They improve the sound without the need to change the speakers. The sound seems cleaner in the mids and mids/lows. This is a cheap and simple improvement for a car audio system.
