Damplifier Pro!
Pros: Absolutly the easiest to use and weigh's so much less....
Cons: None so far
I just finished installing this product in my 2005 Scion XB. I purchased the 80 square foot shop pack. I started with the roof and worked my way down. Not only did Damplifier Pro stick to the roof like nobodys business it also was easily molded to the different shapes of the cross members. With other product that I have used they tend to tear when folded to much. Extremely easy to use as well. I used only 2 razor blades for the entire install. The sound deadning quality incredible as well. I think for a bit better deadning on the roof I may end up putting on a second layer at a later date. I have sound tested the interior with similar cars that have used dynomat or other products for there deadning and found that SecondSkin's product out performs and is MUCH lighter too. 80 square feet was only 40 additional pounds to the car. I believe you are getting so much more for your money.
Damplifier Pro, envy of all other vibration dampers
Pros: Awesome adhesion, mindlessly easy to install, asphalt free, little to no odor, withstands high temperatures, extremely effective
Cons: None
Damplifier Pro is the best vibration damper period. I've used a few other vibrations mats and they just don't stack up at all.
It has a very unique butyl adhesive core that is completely different from any of the competitors. It's initial bond strength is actually kinda weak, but this gives you the opportunity to get the mat placed exactly where you need it, especially in tight areas like doors. You would not believe how many times I misplaced a piece of mat somewhere and was able to quickly peel it up and place it elsewhere. At this point you are probably thinking that it wont adhere very well to anything, but that is completely wrong. Within a few minutes to an hour the adhesion significantly increased and the mat can not be removed.
I've also have the pleasure to experience it's thermal capabilities. I installed a single layer of it on my hood for two reasons, to reduce engine noise and to provide a protective thermal barrier so the paint on my hood wouldn't get scorched from my unshielded headers. I did see a reduction in noise but thermally it was like night and day. The hood use to get so hot that you couldn't put your hand on it longer then a few seconds, but now it is only as warm as the ambient air temperature. And I wouldn't dare apply an inferior product under my hood and run the risk of the product failing and detaching itself or even worse, melting and having a big black sticky mess all over my engine.
It conforms to curved and complex surfaces like second nature. Installed with nothing more then your hands and a knife, and maybe a roller just to save the wear and tear on your hands a bit.
And of course it works. No more buzzing or rattling when I crank the speakers up. The exhaust drone is nearly nonexistent and the overall quietness of the car is just astonishing.
I couldn't even come up with a single con, I even tried to find something wrong with it but couldn't. It's cheaper then most of the competitors, thicker, heavier, withstands higher temps, installs easier, and works better.
Why settle for anything less then the best?
Damplifier Pro - Multipack
Pros: very adhesive, conforms well to odd shapes, does a great job deadening
Cons: none
I've used this product a few different times, and evertime i'm pleased with the result. Super adhesive, this stuff sticks to just about any surface, with it's thick body, deadens better then dynamat and the others in my opionion. Easy to roll on, and is extremly easy to get into oddly shapped surfaces like wheel wells, and truck lids. Can't go wrong. Good job second skin for making a great product. I'll post my opionion of the luxury liner as soon as I install it.
