Default Maelstrom-x sealed box build

Posted this over on DIYMA and figured it was probably better suited for this forum.

I received my Maelstrom-x a week or so ago and finally got around to starting on the box today. The design is by Neo Dan over on AVS forum and his cutsheet can be found in this thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1051665

The box is around 6.3 ft^3.

Hope to wrap up the construction tomorrow and start on the finish work before paint.

On to some pics:

Also encountered some southern nature today while building (I'm still getting use to the south). I'll post the pics in an OT thread. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...d.php?p=518988

Edit: Forgot to mention that you can see the front baffle and OS waveguide for the Nathan 10 loudspeakers in the background of the first picture.

Nice. Looks like a very solid box design. Should sound pretty good.

I might just be not seeing it but what is the box volume?

Still have a lot of finishing work to do and I'm also waiting on the amp. This will be in my living room with Dr. Geddes Nathan 10 loudspeakers.

Since I'm using his speakers I thought I'd try his subwoofer technique which requires at least 3 subwoofers placed somewhat randomly throughout the room. The Maelstrom is going to be toward the front of the room and two JBL w12gti subwoofers will be in faux end tables toward the middle/rear of the room.

Got it up and running this weekend. It's sounding pretty good. Still need to dial it in, but suffice it to say I had a pretty big grin on my face for most of my little demo session.

I know the exact grin you are talking about.

It is the kid in a candy store grin. LOL
